BENZIE COUNTY’S Long Lake is tucked in the hills beside Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This lakefront home site captures the essence of Up North, with beautiful woods, elevated views and 146 ft. sandy-bottom frontage to swim, fish, paddle, sail & pontoon. FEBRUARY – As the 2018 northern Michigan real estate season gears up, it’s time to assess where we’re headed and what to expect. From my “boots on the ground” perspective, I believe the market is near “peak” for pricing. I don’t anticipate a big increase in inventory in the near future, which is what it would take to shift to a buyers’ market. Interest rates are still historically low — so unless they go up significantly, they will not impact the market much.
In my experience the market is affected more by consumer confidence in the economy, which seems to be better now than it has been in years. This could change in a hurry, however, due to a number of national factors.

The President’s tax bill did include good news for real estate property owners, thanks to the work of the National Association of Realtors and the Realtors Political Action Committee.
